We enjoyed the ambiance of the historic Lakeside Inn both in our 1920's style room, in the grand Old Florida style lobby with coffered ceilings, on the spacious front porch and in the warm pulled pork delia cheerful Tremain's Lounge. The lounge is a gathering place for both hotel guests and locals. When you visit the lounge, have Jonathan mix you a Lemon Drop and look for longtime resident, Walker. He has lived there since the 1930's and will regale you with stories from the town's past.
Selections at Hula's include Hawaiian fusion dishes and other choices such as spicy edamame, fish tacos, slow roasted bbq pulled pork bone in, jungle tofu, wasabi ahi, macadamia-encrusted mahi mahi, a variety of burgers (including vegetarian) and sweet potato fries. Hula's also offers a tiki bar with tropical drink specialties. Also of note: Hula's participates in the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch Program.
Today I was running errands and decided to stop and check out Alan's New York Bar-B-Que. I just fancied a slow cooker bbq pulled pork bar-b-que sandwich. As I drove past it and into the parking lot there was a 'For Lease' sign in the window. This was so upsetting because I am now finding restaurants closed on a weekly basis.

One of the biggest complaint that men have about weddings is the fancy food. This is easily remedied, especially now that comfort food is such a big wedding trend. Set up stations with crowd-pleasing appetizers like mini slow cooker bbq pulled pork sandwiches, mac and cheese shooters, and other hearty fare. The great thing about these appetizers is that your female guests will devour them too. If you really want your wedding to be a hit with the male guests, have a rich chocolate cake instead of a fruity flavor like lemon curd. They will be thrilled!
Any list of top baseball foods requires at least one nod to the tradition, the classic simplicity, of your basic ballpark hot dog. And while many fans swear by their home team dogs, you can't go wrong with a Fenway Frank. Supplied by local Chelsea business Kayem who's been making hot dogs since before there even was a Fenway Park Fenway Franks are steamed then grilled then served New England style on a bun that's split on top bbq pulled pork and crustless on the sides topped with as many or as few fixings as you desire.
I don't think the people organizing this affair could've picked a better day: 3 days into PBW. Be sure to make a day out of this, as every bar along the avenue will be participating with specials, samplings, and everything in between, including, but not limited to $15 buckets of Bell's Beer at Stogie Joe's, and a Dogfish Head-style cookout at the Pub on Passyunk East. Click here for a full schedule of the day's events.
